SOMAFCO Prize Initiative
The SOMAFCO Prize Initiative which aims to IDENTIFY, SPOTLIGHT AND SUPPORT beacons/programmes of excellence in education is gaining momentum. The programme is focussing on the Provinces of Kwa-Zulu Natal, Eastern Cape and Gauteng.

On the 3rd of September 2010, the SOMAFCO Trust in partnership with the Department of Basic Education and the Trust’s anchor partner; the Independent Development Trust ( IDT) launched the SOMAFCO Prize Initiative. The SOMAFCO Trust has since been accepting entries from the 3 focus provinces and the entry deadline for Phase 1 has been extended to the end of February.

As education is an equalizer of society, we encourage you to get involved by referring an initiative or programme to the SOMAFCO Trust by providing them with our contact details which are:
